When it comes to the PAM183, what exactly does the "Black Seal" refer to? Is it seal like a gasket, or is it seal the animal, or is it related to US Navy Seals or something like that? It's been bothering me.

Yes, I am aware of the whole panerai historical story. But is "Black Seal" what they called the frogmen/divers themselves? If so, I just had never seen it stated anywhere before.
I actually think it's related to one of Pugwash's pics.
