It all depends on what models you like, how accurate you want it and what you are willing to pay.

If you don't care if it is Asian or Swiss movement then any dealer can get what you want.

The major things that will be different from rep to rep are the swan neck regulator, the ar coating, the lume and the cannon pin.

Davidsen offers a little bit of an upgrade to most by having a flush cannon pin and some watches with super lume. He does not offer anything with a swan neck though.

My favorite PAMs, that I own, are my 005 from Davidsen, my 113 from Josh and my 192 from Paul. Each one has its flaws, but they are all great watches.

Your first step should be figuring out which model you like the best.

Ohh... Nah!

Cubichete,

What do you like so far?
Many buy the 111H but dont overlook the 177H which is the same watch but a different finish.
I wish that I had went that route but River's $119 or $109 (cant remember what I paid (thanks to Captin Morgan)) was too good for me to pass up.

I saw a good movie yesterday about a time machine it was called primer - I give it two thumbs up!!

On the panerai front - spend some time reading here as there are lots of great topics that will help you find the watches you want.

Pam Warning!!

My 1st Pam was the 187 from EddieLee, big, bold, beautiful, solid and works great. Then I debated the 127 from Davidsen and TrustyTime. I went with Andrews, because of the lure of the swiss movement with gorgeous working swan neck, and it also has a ripe and fully lumed dial and hands. But part of the decision was clouded by Davidsens 005/Swiss, which I kept yearning for and going back to and debating about. Well the 127 Fiddy was a stunning joy. Absolutely beautiful, though ,I was afraid that the winsome and fully rounded crystal would forsake me, but it has not exploded after 4 weeks and I have worn it almost every other day. When it's off my wrist I walk over to it and look at it, I even peek around doorways when it's showering and when its getting ready for bed. I am one sick F***, but thats just part of the sickness. And then yesterday in desperation, I just couldn't take it anymore, and with my heart pounding my watch wrist bathed in sweat, and even though my PayPal account was way over drawn, I snuck to my computor in the dead of the night and ordered the Davidsen 005/Swiss. Once I hit the PAY button that old familiar feeling of omnipitence flushed over me as I sat Rampantly awash in gushes of desire and passon.
When I awoke this morning I knew I had hit rock bottom as I am now overtaken with feelings of shame and self-lotheing on one hand, and lust and greed on the other. So as I sit here in front of my computor and make plans to turn myself in to the Betty Ford Center, I just want to warn you, "That It can Happen To you. Don't Do It, don't order that 1st Pam!!
A Friend.

Does davidsen produce a 177

Admin Note: Davidsen would know, would he not? If it is not in his sales section, then Davidsen would be the person to ask. If it is in his section...
: )

Don't think so. I PM'ed him to ask, and he said he did not (this was a couple weeks ago.) I'm with you, though -- the 177 is the Pam for me, but I also want it as accurate as possible, which usually means going with Davidsen's versions.

Anyone out there offer some advice, or do we just get the 177 from another dealer and have the pin fixed and then get a re-lume job? Figure that might be the best bet -- just hate that it adds some $100-150 to the cost...

There's no fighting the addiction.

Just enjoy it.

Even though Davidsen doesn't offer any watches with the swan neck, you can get FANTASTIC solid back watches where it doesn't matter. Genuine swiss 6497-1 movements, with tremendously accurate dial and crown details. You can't go wrong with the 005 or the 201A.
