Best Cartier rep

Hello, Just been looking for a new watch and somehow always get sidetracked to a different model/brand when I think about it more.

In terms of the Cartier options, out of the Ballon, Roadster and Santos which is the most gen like, reliable and affordable? I see some of these models going for $500 which to me is pretty crazy after getting used to looking at decent pams for around the $250 mark.

I have fairly small wrists so would not want to go bigger than 44mm.

The best Cartier reps are probably Santos 100, Ballon Bleu, Roadster and then the others which are not as good.

I second Cee, The santos 100 is supposed to be dead on, my mid size ballon is also really accurate to the gen & the roadster is not my taste so I will not comment on this one...

The full size ballon 42 mm has only one flaw to me and it is the date font

Yes in general it seems the Cartier reps are very good. I was researching the Ballon Bleu myself not too long ago and I definitely remember seeing one on PureTime that had the correct date font, so be sure to check them out! I had started a thread myself about the different types of Ballon Bleu reps out there if you want to have a search for it somewhere in the Cartier section.

Yeah and that"s really a shame but due to the second hand prices, gen may be an option for this watch.

Used Gen Tanks can be had for around $500. The older versions that is.

santos 100 is great ... but the strap really sucks ... if u wanna get it , u will need to throw somemore money in for a better strap

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Pasha de Cartier Seatimer. I think that's an awesome rep.

Yep the Pasha is nice but its design may not be liked by a lot of people (including myself)

The better ones are the Seatimer and the Santos XL (screws instead of spring bars).

Have the chrono quartz and that is serious luxury for little $$.

The quartz version is very much like the 7750, except that it says "Quartz" on the case back. Nice little touch where far too many quartz versions would keep the "Automatic".
This one is a total fantasy as Cartier does not make a black chrono, nor a full
size quartz. But as all good fantasies, it is very plausible.

The attention to little details really makes it. Deep engravings and crisp detailing such as a faint blue reflection in the dial that turns the colour of the dial from a plain black to a far more subtle deep grey:

The one negative about the rep is that it cannot be water proofed. So Seatimer can't swim...
