Ballon Bleu 42mm Insights please :)

Hi Tribe,

I just received a Santos 100, I absolut;y love it, she is a true Super Rep as per my standards...

I was wondering what was the consensus for the Ballon Bleu 42mm ? Is the V6 factory release a new SS one with updated DW.

I just saw an updated RG model on Toro site.

If any one could give me some hints , I will sincerely appreciate

I bought a similar watch from Toro a couple of weeks ago (it might be the previous version though) with a Sellita movement. I ordered it with a genuine croco strap as an upgrade. It looks perfect, the case finish is very good, the dial also, it keeps time perfectly, the rotor is silent. The jewel in the crown ( ) is a little bit too dark blue imo. Not cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. I am on the verge of buying a second one, will post some pics of the one I received. Not 100% happy with the croco strap: the quality of the leather is better than what you would expect from a rep, but it is a little too thin on the lugs, exposing some metal, not good. Meanwhile I found a source making not too expensive straps to order, so I will have a strap made there. When I compare the BB to other reps, it is one of my favorite watches: closed caseback, so no issue with exposed mechanisms and the inherent flaws (this is what keeps me from buying a PAM 512) decent dial work on the more recent and expensive versions, more baroque design so it's not a watch for supergeeks who will concentrate on hairlines left and right (very PAM that one), the gen is not too expensive so it can always blend in with your lifestyle. I have a project of getting the new one DLCd in black or gunmetal with a custom painted dial (although I'm not sure about that one):

Also completely agree she is better on a leather strap, planning also to get that done
