Frankened IWC Big Pilot 5002 Sunkened Date wheel and GEN dial

Just not satisfied with the date wheel recessed after installing the gen dial.

I cut off the dial feets , and made a custom ring for the dial. Making a recess of 0.6mm for the date wheel to look sunken. Added the rep chrome date window too. Perfect fit !

I use Hypo cement to stick up all the parts . Non messy and removable .

REP dial with dial ring made to measure ..

Sunken date wheel with GEN dial placement. Look ok The hour hand still 0.1-0.2mm away

Fitting the ring onto the GEN dial , dial feet has to be removed. The positions are off. Hypo cement the ring to the dial.

Fitting back the REP window to the GEN dial. Hypo cement the back of the dial onto the window.

Perfect fit !

Installing the Faux PR to the GEN dial .Hypo cement from the back of the dial.

Wait 2 hours to dry ...

I like how you glued the PR hand from the back. Most do it from the front and leave marks on the dial.

where did you source ur gen dial? I just got my 5002 today and very surprised at how well it fits, especially since it is my first IWC.

btw, do you have any spare BP straps that you can part with? Barely worn the rep strap and the back lining is already cracking like crazy.
