Thanks a lot, now I understand.I didn’t get a description with mine but I used post #10 from this thread to work it out, once you understand it then it’s quite simple.
When the crown is fully pushed in it winds the watch as normal (note it is not a screw in crown).
To set the calendar you need to adjust the time forward until the day indicator is on the correct day and the time is at 8pm, this is adjusted as normal with the the crown in the second position.
Once that is done push it back to the first position and then you can adjust the month by rotating the crown up towards 12 o’clock, as the months change from December to January the year will change in sync, if you go past the required year by accident as I did just keep going and it will roll round to the beginning again so you can set it. For info my watch has 2021 to 2028 on the year wheel.
With the crown still in position 1 if you turn it down towards 6 o’clock it will adjust the date on the 3 o’clock wheel.
All told it’s an excellent movement and easy to use, I hope this description helps.
Regarding the first question, no unfortunately not, while it is a fantastic representation of the genuine it works as a normal date wheel.A question to owners of this watch: is the day date function working by regarding months with 30 and 31 days (and February)?
Some wishes to the factories:
- split up the year wheel in 3 parts, glue together (keeping a small gap) and shift the year as actual. This improves the gen-like face of the year wheel (maybe I try this by myself...)
- add correct working moon phase complication
- release a Big Pilot perpetual calendar with this movement
- add flying tourbillon complication and release a IW504505 Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon
