Anyone Polish the area between the bezel Teeth on a SUB or GMT?

One of the things that really bothers me about the Sub, GMT, DSSD is that the area between the teeth on the bezel is not polished.
All Gens are polished and you can tell right away when you see one in the sun or under a bright light.
The Reps are dull compared to the Gens.
So I would like to polish this area myself.
Has anyone tried this? Any suggestions?

I used meguiars metal polish to give the bezel and the inside of the teeth more gen like shine. If you polish to hard the teeth will get a soft appearance which you don't want.

What do you use to get between the teeth?
It's such a small area that a towel would be too big.

I think cape cod cloths work very well on the older sub steel bezel teeth. I agree that the lack of shine n the teeth of these newer subs isn't as good. May it's the way they cut the metal, because it's just not as good

Look at the gunk that comes off the bezel teeth just the first time ( I did it three times with almost as much coming off each time)

I used a gift card and some cape cod to get between the the teef, it made a world of difference, I plan to really get into it once I take the insert off to replace it with a spongebob unit.

Incredible!!

how much polishing did it take ? I have cape cod clothes already. Do you think I should tape off the bottom portion to avoid polishing ?

I just wrapped the cloth around the card and used the edge, so didn’t have to tape, I turned the bezel and only worked along the polished side of the case.

And then you polished the top of the bezel too? It looks really good. Not sure why this isn't done more often.

Have any more pics?

Gen has alternating polished and satin brushed surfaces on the bezel. That’s what makes it pop. At some angles, the scallops on gen have shadows cast on the surfaces giving a stark contrast between the scallops and polished bezel ring.

If you simply use cape-cod over the entire bezel, it will ruin/diminish the brushed surfaces giving low contrast between the two types of finish. Personally I would not attempt to mod a rep bezel....it will make the whole thing shiny which is not gen spec

I would love to see some high quality pics of before and after polishing. When doing this does it remove some of the sharp jagged edges that are in some of the teeth of the bezel? I've always thought about doing this but have been afraid to damage the bezel.

if done properly with the right tools super genlike finish can be achieved.
cape cod is definitly not the right tool, but it will produce some nice results.
