Anyone have Davidsen's logo 005?

Just looking at it and really like it. Was wondering if anyone out there had one and what they thought?

Also Paneristi has this listed as a model that stared with the G series. This is a little odd to me since it is an 005. I would think this would have started in at least the C series.

The 005 Logo started w/ the OP XI mvmt - G series. The letter refers to the year around the time the Vendome era began:

A = 1998
B = 1999 and so on,

G = 2004

I have a DavidSen 195.

On the basis of this, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another of his watches - this 195 is so crisp.

It may have faults - I wouldn't know and couldn't care less - the casework and dial print are so good that I cannot believe I have a rep on my wrist.

The reason I questioned the fact that it started with G was becasue of the model number.

001 - D only
002 - D only
003 - D only
004 - A-B only
005 - G-on?
006 - 1997
007 - 1997
And so on

It is just odd to me that those before it were A,B or D and those after it were only in 1997. Why would 005 wait to come out in 2004?

Damn, no super lume? That was one of the things really attracting me to this piece. Fully loaded and ready to go out of the box.

i pm him about super lume and he said yes it was tri-tec newlite and it was also water proof 3 atm. he for got to list it. thats what made me go ahead and put it on my list.

Yes, Davidsen's 005 does look tempting and it is on my list, too.

Yes, I do have the same question with Roeod4. Maybe someone can enlighten me here?

Also, if you can only get one between 005 and 195 from Davidsen, which one will you pick, and why?

Does anyone take issue with the font used for the lettering on the dial? It seems much too sharp, the gen has a bit thicker lettering. Is it just me or has anyone else taken notice of this?

Same here. The rest of the watch is great, but the dial doesn't do it for me. The lettering is off in thickness and shape, particularly on the 6. Would be nice to see some other pictures of the watch from different angles. For now, I'll wait.

Ok, last question from me on this one.

Has the 005 ever had a sandwich dial? Davidsen is offering me the option of sandwich or sausage and I can not find anything that shows the sandwich dial ever being offered on this model.

I like both dial types so that isn't really an issue. I am concerned with accuracy though.

go with the saussage..the logos were never sandwiched..

it was only released in the G cause the first batch of 005 used surplus 195 dials which were released in 2003...i think..

now, where's enzo with all the information?! :roll:

They actually have an 005h on the market, but none of the ones I have found have a sandwich dial. I think the sausage is going to be the safe bet.

There is also a H series. One thing I notice is Davids H series has L SWISS L which I believe came on the G series while L SWISS MADE L came on the H .
