253 just in from River in only 2 days - 17 big pictures

Just received this PAM253 Regatta Flyback from River in just 2 days from Taiwan to California :wink:

A lot of things are fixed on this one in comparison to the 212's out there, but judge for yourself - enjoy

the 212's didn't have the correct engraving, a lot of things were missing and the movement engraving on this one is also closer to the gen

Having just looked at the real one this afternoon the only obvious dial differences are the numerals on the 3 sub dial should be slightly bigger and the seconds ticks around the outer edge of the dial should be numerous between the larger ticks, 3 as opposed to 1 but other than that it is bloody good!!!


Does the crystal have AR or is it your very good camera skills?

I have also noticed those flaws, in comparison to the 212's I can however easily live with them...

The Crystal is not AR coated - guess I have good camera skills, or is it the equipment

For anybody interested; I am using a Canon 20D, Canon EF-S 60mm macro lens, Polarizing Filter, Light Box and some cheap Homedepot lights, after that you just have to put the Crystal at an angle of about 30 to 80 degrees and turn the polarizer - in some cases the Crystal almost entirely dissapears. Pugwash has probably posted some more sophisticated guides on how to do this

Great shots. Great watch. I love it. I was never crazy about chronos (a bit too busy for me) but this is beautiful. And I love the Watch Boys band. I have the same one sitting here waiting for a watch to go on! I can't find this on River's page. This one seems to work for me moreso than the 212's out there. I don't like the tachymeter one the others. Looks great on this one. And the blue second hand is perfect.

What band came on it from River?
