I am test driving a 2003 M3 sometime soon. Who knows....
This is off topic but what the hell: Funny you should say that as I've been thinking a late M3/M5 would make a great buy to replace mine in 2 yrs; in the former's case the new M3 is due in 2007 (425hp V8] and this may pressure prices ...
tho', sometimes it works the other way, with the price of the new one due to jump by a big margin, and with increased complexity, then some Bimmer afficianados hanker for the prior model's purity - especially as it's still running the highest form of the classic in-line 6, then perhaps used prices rise a little.
The late M3 is an all-time classic (driven it) and has plenty of 'go' for most!
The new M Coupe- same engine - also looks like a performance bargain.

ps to my fellow Antipodeans: "coupé" is a French word, hence the 'accent' on 'e', so it doesn't pron. like 'poop', rather, it's 'coop-ay' - a pet, and admittedly very anal, peeve of mine!
pps and Porsche doesn't sound like 'Porch', rather, it's more like 'Porsh-uh' (well, -eh - but if I wrote that Canadians wouild be saying 'Porsh-ay'
