Rotor screw head broke off :-(

Received it today! Dang, Cybee! You didn't have to send the whole movement! :-) No worries... I'll keep it for parts/learning. Autowind assembly seemed to fit perfect. I'll give it a couple of days to make sure it is autowinding, but the rotor seems to spin with just the right amount of...

Rotor screw head broke off :-(

That would be awesome! From what I understand, the ETA 2824 uses he same assembly. PM'ing you now... Thanks!

Rotor screw head broke off :-(

Ugh... Heard a rattling noise in my Noob DSSD V7 w/ 2836 Asian clone. Took the case back off and the rotor was flopping around in there. I thought the rotor screw just came loose, but then I found the screwhead floating around. Looks like the body of the screw is still in the autowind...

    Explorer 1 w/ blue dial

For all you Explorer experts - quick question about the Explorer 1 w/ blue dial made by SA factory (http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_144&product_id=1180)... Was this ever produced by Rolex? If so, where can I find any information on it?

    Noobs vs Mod'd

I doubt Trevor is feeding you bull. Many of the smaller dealers reference watches on Pure-time's website because they do not care to build and maintain their own. They sell the same watches from the same sources. It's just easier for them to verify your choice and provide reference photos by...

What a good crystal press to buy

^^^ I hear ya... Mine came with all the dyes including ones big enough to fit my DSSD. Not sure how hard you're supposed to squeeze that sucker, but all my reps have been pressure tested and I never felt like I ever came close to breaking a crystal while pressing it back in.

My platinum paint mod diy, 114060

If anyone wants an almost full bottle of Anita's 11213 Platinum Permanent Acrylic paint, PM me and I'll send it for free. It doesn't rub off - it peels off without taking the original paint with it... In other words, it doesn't adhere well to the original paint. It may work for you if you...

What a good crystal press to buy

I bought one from my local Harbor Freight tools for $13. Came with a ton of different sized plastic donuts/pucks and works like a champ. Probably "Made in China" junk to you guys but works great for me. :)

Pressure tested my 2014 Noob DSSD

I will say, it is so awesome not having to take off your "dive watch" to jump into the ocean for a quick dip. Was also worried about the sand at first, but these rep timepieces really are remarkable (as this one should be for almost $500 after shipping, WU fees, etc.). Bezel is too tight for...

Pressure tested my 2014 Noob DSSD

By the way, my HEV hasn't been sealed (at least by me anyway). This is stock from the factory sold to me new by Lucy. Just silicon grease on the stem seals and caseback gasket. I don't know if you even need to seal the HEV on the 2014's. Haven't taken the movement out of this one yet.

Pressure tested my 2014 Noob DSSD

Well, actually the test only went up to 10.232 bars (10.1 ATM)... Just dug up the test ticket. Still, that was the max the machine would go. Has anyone tested their DSSD at a higher pressure out of the box?

second rep. Sub, sub no date or SeaDweller?

OP originally posted all ceramic/glidelock models as opposed to classic models. If that's what you want (glidelock IS pretty badass), buy the 2014 DSSD (super rep) you originally posted and be done with it. If you really want to get crazy, add PP mod w/ smoke's paint recommendations...

Replca water reistance, Why so LOW !!

My 2014 DSSD passed the max WR test on my watchsmith's pressure tester with nothing but greased seals. 11ATM (approx 100M rating) was the highest the dry test would go. Been swimming in the ocean with it the last few days... Curious to know how high it would go on a wet tester at higher...

How to remove extra links (BK 116610)

+1 Loctite is fine... There is a thread on here outlining simple mods that you should perform on every new rep. I'm on my phone, so I can't look it up for you, but it involves soaking the bracelet in WD40 (or baby oil if you're paranoid about petroleum product residue), greasing the case back...

How to remove extra links (BK 116610)

It doesn't change at noon... It changes at midnight. You've got your AM and PM backwards. Advance it 12 hours then set your date.

Pressure tested my 2014 Noob DSSD

So before I brought my latest Noob DSSD down here to Florida with me on vacation, I decided to have it pressure tested so I could swim with it. It was a dry test that maxed out at 10.232 ATM. Prior to testing, I greased the seals and tightened the case back... As suspected, it passed with...
