Curious too, I will say the miyota 15400 is nice. Thinner than I expected. I think the 1mm makes a difference. Saw a gen on the wrist at the coffee shop, if you know to look for the thicker case back you can see it lacking in a gen. But on a flatter wrist it hides it well with the miyota version.

Hi, I've contacted toro: toro says "The size is exactly same as gen ." Here is the 15300 and the 15400 Miyota, same angle: the 15400 miyota is 10,5mm http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/822/jnoq.jpg I've take the picture from here: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=174925&p=1763429&viewfull=1#post-1763429 I think the 15300 is 2-3mm more, so that the thickness of 15300 is 12-13mm! what toro says can not be true... It might just be the camera, but I think the bezel on the 15300 is thinner than the Miyota? From the angel of the pictures, it appears that the bezel and rubber are slightly thinner, maybe this could account for a couple of mm? I do agree though, it does at first glance appear thicker than 9mm. If for nothing but the new rotor.
I am surprised the AP group here is not wishing for a quality 15202 rep. For good reason there is a gigantic appreciation thread for the '202 at RF site. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=356146
I wouldn´t mind a 15202, but I think the fact that it doesn´t carry a second(s) hand, is a turn off for many people. Even though it´s the closest representation of the original reference.

Here is the old 15300 almost fully disassembled for repair. Repair work: 1) crown (stripped inside), 2) crown tube (pops out of the movement holder, lower right). The Xtal is a mineral at best, the dial markers and hands have a tremendous amount of contamination. Swiss clone 2824 movement.

Cool! I've seen a few watchmakers like you who leave the band on. This is for easier manipulation of the watch, and less likely to get lug scratches, yes?

On top of that, AP lug design, in terms of swapping straps, has got to be the worst design in all of watchdom. Then again, I work with reps with sometimes poor alignment issues from the get go.

I do not mind the AP lug design, but I think the reps have poor machining and soft metal, so I do not like really turning too many screws on the case when I work. I left the bracelet on as the watch case does not concern me too much except for cleaning it. The movement/bezel/crown tube is all put together in one easily removable unit anyhow, and the whole issue with this watch is really the crown/crown-tube and the markers on the dial. It is a nice size watch, and I actually prefer this smaller size 15300 to the 15400, which I think is slightly too big.

and the 15400 Miyota, same angle:

Thickness is almost the same like my 15400 (2824 movement), but wears much more comfortable due to the smaller size.

Overall this 15300 is a nice watch, but definitley needs some modding (DW, AR...) - Domi get some work soon ;)

I think the real issue here is that Toro put the wrong size up, then lied about the size when questioned.

A member got *angry* with me for pointing out 9mm was impossible. I was accused of trolling for simply stating an obvious fact that didn't align with the story a dealer was telling them. Why bother warning people when all they're going to do is attack you for it?
