Kello says my 2836-2 is running at 14,400 bhp - should I believe it?

Hi,

A Noobie question - I have just bought a Noob Explorer 2 Asian 2836 Automatic Movement, 25J, 28800 bph from a TD. It has a problem with the power reserve which I am dealing with on another thread. However, I have also been testing it with Kello on iPhone 5 and it detects it is running at 14,000 bph. Should I believe it and investigate whether the TD has shipped me a rep with the wrong movement?

Thanks for any advice,

No movements go at 14,000 or 14,400 so don't believe it. Check your Kello settings.

My grandfather clock in the living room is running at 120 beats per minute, and my Motorola brickphone at it's Jello setting confirms this. Check your settings.

I find it suspicious that it's showing exactly half the rate it should.
Something wrong with the app/settings.

Thanks all,

I think I will ignore Kello (delete it even). It does not seem to have any meaningful settings but does say in the info screen that it is good for mechanisms from 14,400 bhp upwards.

Maybe it's only picking up the "tic" and not the "toc". Needs a better microphone maybe?

Hi, maybe You can program it to always display 28.800?

About the PR: I don´t wind GMT´s, in the beginning just keep it on the wrist longer than 8 or 12 hours until it settles in or shake it more than usual.
