Here is my QC pic, it looks beautiful except the "h" in "chronometer" looks like it's only part there and the number markers look a little off. Is this level of quality what should be accepted or is this what we are supposed to look for and when seen, to reject it?, I don't want to be picky if I have no right to be and this is what is pretty typical.

Thanks watch.aholic,

I figured they pick real nice ones for their pics on the "sales" pages and the YM's their look real nice with almost all the little stuff looking real good so I didn't know if I have the right to expect one that good or should we figure we probably won't get one that good when we buy one?

Also, the cyclops seems a bit to the right as well. That would bother me.

Yes I saw the cyclops but didn't know if it was the angle or if it was really to far right and a few of the markers look a little off to me....we have a legitimate right to look that close as I keep reading..."these are reps"...

It does look like the 'H' is bad. Push the reject button unless they can prove its a bad quality photo with another that give a closer view.

Markers and cyclops look fine to me. If the nick out of the H is forever going to bug you, politely knock it back and explain why. If it bugged me, I'd feel bad doing it but I'd still do it.

Look...it's one thing to have a misaligned letter that gets printed on every dial of a lot of 5k, but if a letter gets scratched on one dial they should toss it out in QC. The exceptional TD's know this and make allowances for the benefit of the buyer and the TD's continued business on the forum...THAT's why they're 'trusted dealers'.

I think I would reject that, if the H will bother you then ask for another one.

I agree. But the reality is that in real life no one will see this. But the op knows it is there, and it will drive him nuts. Ask for another one.

Toss it out? Do you think that they will just toss out a dial (after having put in labour and resources) because it has a tiny scractch on it?
If you don't buy it, somebody else will, even at a "reduced" price.

We are not talking about a giant Rolex company here that makes 900%+ and therefore HAS to make sure everything is perfect in order to justify and keep their reputation. These guys have to sell anything they have.

OP If the H bothers you THAT much, ask for another one, you might find another tiny flaw, or, if you're unlucky a bigger one... and when you finally accept the QC picture and receive the watch... you might see a flaw you hadn't initially noticed and it might bug you so much you'll wish you'd accepted the first one!
In a way it's good that we are anal about things like this, as it might force the factory to up standards. But we've got to be realistic about what we are dealing with here.
This is an underground game, and we need to adjust expectations accordingly!

It's up to you, a bit of a gamble really, but if I were in your shoes I'd accept it.

That H is really NOT going to make the watch look less expensive or amazing on your wrist.

Just my opinion though.

Good luck!

As others have pointed out, it is about a balance between what can realistically be achieved in the rep factories for a hundred dollars vs. what is acceptable to you.

I'm pretty sure that there are other watches out there which have come off the same production line without that scratch/scuff on the dial, therefore as far as I'm concerned this is a genuine QC escape and, as it'd bug me everytime I looked at the watch, I'd politely ask for another. If the OP were saying the text was too big/small/wrong font/spacing, then his expectation of this rep would be too high and I'd say not to turn down the pictures.

For me, I'm happy to live with flaws I knew about before buying the watch (CG shape incorrect, sub-dial spacing wrong, etc.,) providing the watch has been well finished.

Just my 2p though!

Ask for another one. I know if something bothers me up front, it will ALWAYS. I'll only accept flaws if ALL or most examples from the same factory exhibit them. But I won't take a watch if 9 out of 10 others I see don't have it.
