Starting a new project today.
So far the specs are.

STcase for 3035
ST Hand set
ST gaskets
ST spring bars (best on the planet imo. Better than gens)
Rolex 3035 movement.
Gen stem
Gen crown
Rolex datewheel open 6’s and 9’s.
Gen 16608 dial (still not sure about a TT sub) but absolutely in love with the patina on it. The dial just needs a little clean up and I may just try it for a while and if it doesn’t work out, may switch to the MQ dial.
The only thing that hurts on that build is the $400 gold bezel for aftermarket! Phew!

On the way:
MQ 16800 dial w/ off white lume.
Showcase back.
Gen tube.
WSO bezel assembly
Clark’s AR crystal.

Please excuse the old hands on there. They’re ST but I slapped them on there to test accuracy. Guy I bought it from said I can return it at any time so testing this and PR for now while I slim down this fat girl case.

Finally had some time to actually work on some stuff. Had that CVOID crap for a while but a very mild case.

Thank you to Mr.lawlessflyer for the help in gathering some of the parts.

Hold on to your butts!

First time working with a gen Rolex movement and I gotta say, it’s soo much easier to install hands on those pinions. They just pop right on. No fiddling around trying to get it set perfectly. They just popped right on and just needed a little bit of pressure.

Love it.

Anyone know what size gasket I need for a 16800 build? My JF one seems to be about 2mm tall. However, the retaining ring for the JF seems to be wider than the ST retainer ring. So I’m really hoping Clark’s crystal and gasket fits tight and the WSO bezel assembly fits tight.

Those are about the only worries I have aside from MQ not responding. I’m in dire need of a MQ 16800 dial if anyone has one for sale or trade. Hit me up!

The dial you currently have looks cool already, why change it so fast?

Oh I just had the dial already. I thought about building the 16608 but just the aftermarket bezel alone is another $500. I don’t even wanna know a gen bezel costs. That and a gen gold crown and 2 tone bracelet... those parts alone is another grand or 2.

Plus, I always planned on doing a proper 16800 build. I have one with a JF16610 with lug holes drilled but came across this movement for a good price so pulled the trigger on it.

Now I just need to get this built and sell my current 16800. :D

I have been considering maybe using they dial and a gold crown maybe just to see how it looks.

That’s going to be such as nice watch with a very rare case for your 3035 I would search for the perfect dial, those parts are worth it.

Bezels to ring fit can be a PIA I’ve found that a ST bezel on a Gen or ST ring have the best action but the ST bezel and Gen insert require a little sanding on the bottom of the insert.

Regarding a 16803 conversion your spot on they are not cheap I’ve been slowly building mine. The 93153 claps for the ST bracelet is a must but is additional cash.

Congrats on this man
