I did that one myself. It’s more “ghosted” now. I have another insert that I may use. I’m just keeping it new just in case I change my mind.

Back to the drawing board.
Re-working the case.
Thinner the hell out of it.
Softened the edges on the case and bracelet.
Re-chamfered the lugs and chamfered the lug holes a bit.
Next up will be touch up on the lume with a lighter color. Atheya crown and tube (hopefully it gets here soon. It’s still in Indonesia!)
No clue why the lume looks blue here but it’s def green.

Re-working the case.
Thinner the hell out of it.
Softened the edges on the case and bracelet.

Touched up the dial a bit. Made the lume a little lighter. Gabe everything a matte coating.
Finished up the case and re-lumed the hands to match the dial. Added a little rust to the hands. Hard to really tell until it’s all assembled.

Here she is with the hands on. Had a “oh shit” moment with the min hand rubbing on the hour hand. Normally, that’s no big deal but for some reason, the second hand on this thing does not come off easily. You damn near have to pry it off. The oddest thing. I’ve never had a ETA hand that hard to pull off.
Case re-work turned out pretty well again. Just need my damn crown n tube. It’s at customs in San Fran. Ugh!

If you go to RWG, she’s a TD there. She’s having a sale on a few vintage pieces. Shoot her a PM there. The only problem with the sale is that if it gets seized by customs, there’s no second chance or a refund bc she can’t afford it at that price.

Well damn. Finally got the crown and tube. Then the tube just snaps right off as I was taking it out of the package.
Adrian is sending a replacement and a tritium pip for my return shipping cost so I have to wait a bit longer.
I decided to just shave the crown down for now.

I gotta say, shaving the crown doesn’t look too bad but atheya’s looks way better. This will hold me off until the replacement gets here soon (hopefully).

Got a Vietnam dial today but the movement is out for service!
JF 16610 on the way as well. Not sure if the 1680 dial will fit the JF case. If it doesn’t, I’ll use it for this build. If it does, I’ll put a 5513 dial in this case since it won’t need to be shaved. Helenaru has good 5513 dials at a great price in case you were wondering.
This build just keeps branching off to other projects. Lol.

Started shaving the 1680 dial. I hate that I have to do it but can’t do anything else with it at the moment. It’s close to fitting perfectly. Have a German plexi on the way as well so the magnification isn’t insane. That’s the one thing I hate about the rep plexis. They’re waaay higher than 2.5x.
Also have a 8 pack of 2mm spring bars.
Hopefully, everything will be done within the next week or so.
Now I need to order a 16800 dial from yuki to build my 16800 since the JF 16610 is on the way. Then I have to decide which one needs to be sold....

Well. After finally accepting the fact that I can’t use this dial for a 16800 build, I shaved it. Looks ok imo. May need to shave the top down a little bit so the tiny marker shows under the T>25 but looking at a lot of gems, they all seem to either barely show or none at all so it’s not stressing me out too much.
Messed up the dates a bit from 23-27. It has a bit of the 2 missing. Haven’t decided if I want to get a new overlay or just use this one since it does look like it’s been well used.
Test fitting the dial and the datewheel overlay.

I’ll just have to accept the fact that I’ll have to use a Yuki dial does my 16800 build. Not as good as I want it to be but will do the trick. I asked this same guy if he could make me a 16800 dial. He quoted me about $600 because it would be a custom order.

Just waiting for the movement to get back to me and the thick springbars and I’ll be done and ready to wear!
I’ll prob end up selling it once I get my 16800 built. Lol. The journey is better than the destination.
