5512 Gilt Sub Build

Howdy,

I've read the forums for a while, learned a ton, and thought I'd join and share my first build. A lot of firsts, like shaping crown guards, luming hands, resetting keyless, etc.

I can't capture in photos, but in direct sunlight, the dial has a brown tropical hue. Plexi has minor cracks so i'll replace.

As a next step, I intend to get a Vietnamese rivet bracelet. I'm assuming this will work with WSO endlinks? Also, I'd love to have a PCG case. If anyone has recommendations for a modder that does good PCGs please let me know - I don't trust myself to do it well.

Mods:
Lower bezel insert and bleach
Matte hands with fiberglass brush
Enlarged lugholes
Reshape CGs from outside and inside
Reshape retaining ring to accomodate new plexi

Beautiful, I have known for years that I want a vintage rolex but have not been able to decide what one exactly, recently I have started researching the different models hoping id fall in love with a certain one, im starting to think its the 5512/5513 gilt

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for the dial?

- 2mm genlike Springbars

I will relume it, because of the damaged hour hand. Also an Athaya bezel insert pip will follow. It's my first build, so constructiv critics are welcome

Ah kilowattore , pastebin worked perfectly! Thanks, I got so frustrated with imgur.

trackgable , 220 for the gilt dial. I think matte dials were 189. Keep in mind they still glow a tiny bit, so it was difficult to get the right glow/color match with the hands. The dial lume is just a slight tinge of yellow.

Rubens100 , thanks for sharing. Do you have any closeups of the PCG? Can you share tips on how it was done? Also, is it a cartel base? I finished this one about six weeks ago.

The last picture was the original bezel insert that got gouged, so I put in a new cartel insert and faded it a bit more. However, I wanted to show the last pic as a close-up of the hands. The lume is lumpy and uneven probably because I didn't mix the flour and lume correctly, but luckily it lends itself to a vintage look.

But please, don‘t take this as example. It‘s my first try and I don‘t think they are pretty good. How to do it...just take the dremel and lets go. And od course a few pictures from a gen one to compare your work.

Also some feedback of people which know how they should look is appreciated.
