Nanuq posted a series of great macro, close-up pics of his 8mm Brevet over on RWG compared to Athaya's 8mm Brevet. The gens are steel wrapped over brass, and you can see the line where the steel meets the brass along the crown edge. Also, each individual "tooth" shows a meeting edge where the wrap comes together along the underside. Once you know what to look for, you can spot it in a second. The Athaya is just steel, so it doesn't have any of these distinctive characteristics.
