It all started with a JK Factory 1:1 Standard rep. Aghast that the watch was not truly 1:1, I promptly got work. This would require all the skillz I could muster up. The whole watch was carefully dissected, cataloguing each and every part, piece, and thing in it. Parts were then replaced, most things were aged, other parts were reshaped with big electric tools & surgeon-like precision, and the remaining parts were relumed. After about 12-15 months a labor we arrive here.
Today, with great privilege, I unveil to you a fully reworked, fully disassembled (and intricately reassembled), 1:1 Ultra Premiere Top +++ 1680 Red.

manodeoro it was actually a mod for someone else and has all ready been sent back (without having taken the pics you’d like to see). I think I have an extra insert sitting around, I’ll make another pip and post how I did it along with some macros.

Thanks buddy.
I wanted to use an Athaya pearl for my A/6538 build but I could try the same mod you did.
Would you mind to explain me how you procedd ?
via PM if you prefer ... I already have an idea about how you did that but it would be nice to have a confirmation.

Impressive case work all around. If you were to hazard a guess, how many hours in work are we looking at here?

Looks really good. I love seeing these modded vintage watches because every one is just a little different. So much more character than the new ones.

How I go about making a pip:
1. Start with an insert sans pip.
GFmYs.jpg

2. Mix up some Epoxy 330, place a drop in the hole to create a foundation for the pip. Allow to dry overnight.
GF4Kp.jpg

3. Mix up a dry(ish) batch of lume. Place on the dried Epoxy base, gently float it into a nice dome shape. (Maybe the amount of lume in this example is a bit much but whatever). Let dry overnight.
GFAUh.jpg

4. Once again mix up some Epoxy 330. This time let the mix sit for 10-15 minutes. With the stiffened mixture, place a droplet on the lume, and float into a nice shape. I start with a little bit and build layers. Let dry overnight.

5. Repeat step four until you build up to the pip size and shape you want.
GSuPU.jpg

6. Enjoy your hand made pip.

Shared this years ago, there are to much epoxy, that's the reason why it looks too big.. But nice work.

Here is an old MBW Build.

Nice work!! Did you do the lume work yourself? It looks amazing. I came across this while building my first rep. Mine says hi!

Looks awesome! This inspired me to finally finish the Cartel 1680 build I've been toying with for 3 years.
