So this is the story of two vintage builds that i had my watchmaker switch cases on
I am going to explain the dial movement and hands
The SD was modded years ago and has an eta 2836 in it
The Comex was modded in Germany
Since my SD case was made years ago, i read that it was not thick as gen and they used a thick caseback with proper engravings to appear taller
The Comex is a submariner with miyota non hacking movt but felt the case was the correct thickness for my SD so I decided to switch the cases
Problem was the casebacks didn’t fit and had to remain with its case along with the crowns
The stems had to stay with the movement
To make it worse, i tried out a local modder to mod the Comex case prior to the switch and promptly shaved away half the HEv, which i made him fully shave it as it looked terrible
I am not happy about the results and wonder what I can do?
Reverse the exchange or further mod the SD?
I like both watches even with these flaws so not looking to move them
