Well that's a lesson in who not to buy gen spec cases from - a fake crown sold as gen, the insert doesn't fit and the crown guards are damaged . . . Yes it fixable, but aside from the fact he shouldn't have sent it out like that, returning it to be repaired/replaced will inevitably cost you time and money - he won't pay for the shipping - at least not from you to him.

A lot of vietnam cases have badly finished inner cgs - mostly it is excess metal that was not smoothed out properly thus left with jagged edges. they just got lazy i guess. It is fixable, you can just try sanding the edge and then repolishing, not really a big deal.

thanks guys! Any idea how to remove the tube without damaging it? I have an internal spline tool but this tube doesnt seem to have any teeth on the inside...

either buy a new tube with splines, or just twist it out and reuse it. I have a 4 sided metal rod that i just jam in there so it catches but will damage the inside.

The tube has nothing to do with case, everything to do with the crown. You have a 24-53-0 crown and need the corresponding tube.

Ok, I figured it out haha!

24-530-0 is the crown
24-5300 is the tube without splines
24-5320 is the tube with splines

I will order a WSO 5320, gen crown should fit...

I really need get back to work now :bleh:

Not a big deal certainly, but for the price of this case it's a shame, we can expect a best quality.

Anyone knows if its possible to fit gen 1675 hands on a 2836-GMT?

Hole sizes cal 1575
GMT 170
minute 80
hour 130
second 20

Hole sizes 2836-GMT
GMT 200
minute 90
hour 150
second 25

In theory "just" broach them, but how difficult? Is this done before?

I've been thinking on HOW to glue new dial feet on the gen dial as the position of gen is different than ETA. I had a tool 3d printed to get the feet at the correct position.
vqetU.jpg

Stick in the feet, little bit of epoxy and done! Well, that was the idea. The hole of a GMT dial is bigger than a non-GMT dial, so I couldn't align the dial 100% in the center. And were talking tenths of millimetres here...

I tried EVERYTHING, without success. Until I figured out to use the tube of a cotton swap. It's a perfect fit!

No worries, this is an old BP dial I used. Didn't want to cut the gen dial's feet before having a solution.

Next step, a custom movement spacer...

Do you think is possible with 3D printer to make a fine plastic dial with his feet ?
The idea, is to glue the dial on this plastic support, i don't know if the plastic feet will be strong enough to attach the dial on movement...
Thanks for sharing

Dial feet are about 0.74mm, plastic will definitely break...

Yes it is possible. TRIPDOG was able to broach my YUKI. Rolex fit hands to an eta movement for my 1019 Milgauss. He had said that they are super delicate. But he did a great job as they have not budged at all

A shipment with a gen plexi and gen crown got lost, so now waiting for the new parts.

In the meantime I used the gen 16750 dial for a franken wso/cartel build. Case was beautifully reshaped by tripdog. I added a flat RT caseback and a WSO bezel assembly + insert.

Oyster or Jubilee? ;)
