HI,

I'm starting to sourcing parts to mod my 1665 DRSD (cartel base). And I have a question regarding the crown (maybe a stupid question).

Which crown/model is the right one for that watch? I see people who uses the Athaya 700, some uses Athaya 702, and some a gen 703.

Any Help would be thankful.

Early 1665 models would have 700 Crowns / 7000 Tubes with twinlock seals, midrange models would have the 702 crown / 7020 Tube Triplocks, late ones could come with the 703 / 7030 Triplock. All are acceptable to be replaced with the 703/7030 Triplock as part of a factory service.

It starts with the 24-700-0 crown and tube- no dots on the crown- early Twinlock, Next was the 24-701-0 for a short time, up until around the early 70's, no dots-still Twinlock. Next was the 24-702-0, til around 1980- this is a Triplock w/ the three dots, no external o-ring on the case tube, one on the inside of the crown and two in the case tube. Finally, the 24-703-0 came out in the early 80's with the external o-ring, one inside the crown and two in the case tube- still referred to as a Triplock. The newest is the 24-704-0 used on the modern Subs

alfons123 answered all of your questions perfectly. Depending on your dial layout - go with the correct era one. Athaya ones are good - but if you are using it on a Cartel case you will need to countersink the case a bit (or the ghetto way is to shave the top of the tube a bit)
