Another 5512 project
I like no date subs, I really do like them. Especially the 5512/5513. I don't know if it's the CG's or the bezel or what else exactly, but I do like them.
And of course I like to build them.
Here's the latest one I completed. I have to be honest, I was after a completely different look (greish/brown matte dial, blue insert) but while aging the dial I got a completely unexpected result and then the build got a life of its own. I'm really happy about how the dial turned out, it was matte black with white inscriptions before while now it's semi-glossy with creamy inscriptions, almost a gilt look, with an interesting texture I could not completely capture in pics which comes out in certain light conditions.
These are the specs:
- Cartel case lightly reshaped, lugs drilled, lightly aged
- Athaya crown and tube installed
- Clark bezel + insert
- Athaya pearl
- Clark hour + seconds hand, cartel minute hand relumed by me
- Vietnam dial, aged by me
