Ahh, thats how I would have done it but was blown away thinking you could paint that precisely. Any reason why you painted the dial gold and not let it shiny brass?

I like the color a little better, and the 1016 gilt dials I’ve seen all have a very light gold effect on the gilt dials vs. a darker brass. Plus I was never able to polish the brass to the way I wanted it haha

Thank you haha - definitely not as impressive as it sounds, it’s just a very thin brush and a tiny layer on the underside where the white text is supposed to be:

The line I drew on the picture above was wrong - a little high, so I peeled it off with my fingernails and tried again:

There’s a little bump because the paint layer wasn’t totally flat, but it came out pretty okay! Red depth next, I think.

I did similar with my one, though I filed a groove into the dial before painting. It didn’t really stop it being visible in the right angle though.

Wow, that previous attempt to post this image, got flagged for spam... weird...

Anyways, this stuff is amazing, it is a cold rhodium plating fluid for copper alloys. I made the silver depth with this stuff on that watch above...

Question about film free decal.
1) where do you source it? (Essential)
2) I have some original Rolex dials with champagne color but without print index and writings. It’s possible to print them again with film free?

Today I’ve made my first experiments with normal decal film and I’m very happy. I’m still playing with transparent paint.

There are by now several youtube videos that meticulously describe the process, including sources of the materials. Please watch.

In short:
1) Sunnyscopa
2) yes
