Very nice dial and lume work otherwise I never seen a bezel scratched like that in real life :)

Neither have I, the only thing I did was make the dial and lume it, and arranged the hands and assembled the lot. The case was sent to me as is for this project, and everything is now back in the owners hands.

No offense taken, it's not on me anyway. It was a bit of a pity, that case, it had such nice features, but of different models mashed together and some aging the owner did himself wasn't done very well. The brass bezel was a very nice feature on this though, and the midcase profile, but the lug drillings were a bit too high. Anyway, with a vintage watch luckaly it is fairly forgiving, bad repairs included....

Tried to edit my old post but I do not appear to be able to. So trying again.

Looking for feedback on my dial.

This is my dial:

This is my dial with the light catching it, showing the texture from the spray. Is this pretty much par for the course or is it recommended to sand it down a bit.

Just spend the last 4 hours reading through this thread. Truly amazed by all. I am wondering where I can find the template files? I am going to attempt a 6538 dial.

After much experimentation with the artwork (adjusting line thickness mainly, based on how my printer was laying ink on the transfer film) I’ve got my first gilt design artwork printed, transferred onto my dial, and next it’ll be more coats of Clear, before the most terrifying task... lume painting!

Nice work, for the lume job, practice on a test dial before and take your time but not to much cause lume mix dry quickly.
Good luck !

Guys, I've said it earlier in the thread, lume binder with UV activation is the way to go for hobbyists, it buys you endless time to perfect the plots. That's how you get the best results BY FAR!! Noctilumina sells it. But I'm using 5 second fix.

François.Fillon : very nice, thank you! I like that coin edge bezel too. I’ve been looking for a one of those or even a case with one. Any tips on where you sourced the case/bezel? (Sorry if you mentioned it above, I’m going through the post again. It’s so long and has such a wealth of info)
