does anyone know a way to get a sapphire crystal on a 1665? I've looked all over. I saw somewhere a guy put a plexi on his 16800, but I havent seen a sapphire option for the 1665. there has to be a way...

A plexi crystal goes over the outside of the rehaut, clamped in place by the retaining ring. Sapphire crystals sit in a recess in the rehaut, the nylon gasket seals the gap, therefore the only way to put a sapphire crystal on a 1665 would be to modify the rehaut area.

agreed and thats why i got it to begin with. i have a 1665 all gen except the phong case. i built it myself. but every few months i need to polywatch it from a doorframe scuff etc. the 16660 Matte dial is my favorite reference but it's almost impossible to find that dial. or case for that matter. ill see if prof can do anything thanks

Sounds like a nice build mate. You sure you can’t live with the light swirls? People here pay to have theirs scratched up. Haha you’ll need a Custom made sapphire to suit the rehaut.
Exactly what I was thinking! It sounds such a stellar build, it seems a crying shame to wilfully make it so unauthentic. I'd leave this one well alone, and keep hunting for parts for a nice 5-digit SD build.
Still, each to their own...
