I’m thinking of investing in a vintage watch but need help.. thinking Rolex submariner or a gmt (1680/5513/1675 etc) but what other watches would you get as a wearable investment?

A non-vintage Rolex. It'll be vintage by the time it's proven itself as a worthwhile investment.

Used SS Daytona? I’m honestly not a fan of the new submariners

Vintage Rolex Explorer 5504. Although if the budget was more than 30K I would go 5512 with an Explorer dial.

I would go for a 5512/3. A timelessly cool look which will look good for as long as you have it and guaranteed to gain in value.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I agree.. But the eggs doesn't worth a lot now.. You losing money leaving money in the bank when inflation in some countries are higher than official interest rates

I would still say there are much better ways to invest $30k than put them into a vintage watch.

If really wanting to invest in watches I'd not go with a single piece in the $30k range, rather spread it out on a few potential neo-vintage pieces.

I agree.. But that require a lot of research I guess.. Buying a sub these days in my opinion is not always a good investment unless you can buy it retail. 5513 and 5512 is overpriced with the hype IMHO. You can buy some 5 digits black subs which are "basic" to hope it will rise or the sleepy Seadweller (5 digits) and see. Non Rolex I guess you can look at some Omegas and possibly a Calatrava. It will be interesting to see your perspective.
