Hello,

I am purchasing a replica 1921 from a non-TD because most TDs listed here didn't have the 1921 even listed for sale, and of those that we're out of stock lacked a manual winding movement and instead carried a A2892 or something like that. The gen watch is only made with a manual winding movement with 21 jewels, and has a thickness of about 8.3mm. I thought to buy a manual winding one from a non-TD with a holiday sale instead of a thicker 10mm automatic.

I also purchased a gen dial and will eventually replace it once I figure out the movement is decent enough.

Pocs of the gen dial:

Let me know what you all think!

also trying to pair it with a gen strap too.

The watch arrived in good condition. No typos anywhere. Here is the front and back. Measured the thickness to be around 8 to 8.5mm, which is the same as gen. Don't have calipers so can't say for sure what the exact thickness is.

You can see the gen dial has a sunburst on the seconds sun dial and printed on numbers. Hopefully the second hand pinion share the same position!

The second hand pinion aren't in the same position. Not sure what to do now.

I took apart the replica and it's off by approx. 1/32 of an inch. Now I'm wondering if I should find a movement out there with seconds @6 with the same position as the gen seconds pinion. Flip it 90 degrees and install it in the movement holder somehow.

Found it randomly on eBay. Offered half of what it was being auctioned off and the guy accepted lol, so I figured to start this project. Seems to me I'm going to have a rough time with it. But at least I'll learn a lot!;)

I think the ETA 6498 movement is similar in pinion position, but considerably larger than my current movement which might require some custom mounting. Does anyone have a ETA or clone 6498 movement they can measure the distance of the main pinion to the seconds pinion?

Edit 1: Figured out the 6498 has about a 10mm distance to the seconds post, and I need a 8mm distance. Wondering what movements out there have that requirement.... or if i just need to adapt the current movement I have somehow.

Progress report: the movement holder is being modified to accept the new movement that has the seconds at 6 match the position of the hole on the dial. Also installed a hand and mounted the dial onto the movement. Broke a crown by accident and I had to epoxy it back on. Thank god for JB weld. Here is a pic so far.
