The 9039 is just the 9015 without seconds hand and without date complication. On miyotas website it says both are the same height...

Well, you can't expect them make the rep with real platinum. lol As for the rotor, I'm not sure taking a miyota rotor off actually makes the movement any thinner, I think they would need to start with a movement that is designed to be manual in the first place. Why they don't do that I don't know.

Still, this new version is a step in the right direction. And I'm glad to see a factory taking VC reps seriously. So often it seems like they just cobble together some nonsense and call it a "rep". This one looks pretty good to me.

This movement with a Date complication slapped into a 15202 or even a 5711 would do the job with its smaller pinion height... Or am I mistaken?

JF should take note of this rep and add a date complication to make the 15202 super slim. It's possible!!!
