Why XF instead of V6F if you're going with miyota anyway?

I think it's fine tbh, I bet it's not going to be noticeable on the wrist.

XF and V6F is the same. The other Pelagos maker is ZF.
These SEL gaps are the weakest points of the watch. There are possibilities to improve this a bit but this is some hard work.
I did this on my V6F maybe I‘ll do a little review of it.

In short: SEL lowering is the only possibility. I modded my SELs to take gen spec 2mm springbars. And after that I had to file and grind some material off from the SELs. Very hard work...

I will show the watch and tell the tools I used for this.

Please be patient...

I can’t picture how lowering the SEL by grinding away material would close the gap. Wouldn’t you need to widen the link by adding material somehow?

and to the OP, in my opinion, that bracelet/SEL looks pretty bad, but the head looks pretty good. So if you were going to put the watch on a strap anyways, I’d say green-light.

You can‘t make the gaps narrower. That’s impossible. But these SELs are protruding over the case and because of the gaps they are never correctly centered. That does not look pretty good at all.

But if you use a pointed punch and give the SELs on every inner side one punch they will end up getting a little bit wider in this area and won‘t slide from left to right between the lugs anymore. That’s the first step to do.
After that lowering the SELs is the way to go. At mine I coul grind down approximately 0.2-0.3mm of material. After that the SELs have to be evened and refined until the light breaks consistently at every angle.

You won‘t rerecognize your watch again.

Tomorrow I will post some pics.

Here are some pics. And as mentioned those gaps are the biggest flaw on these Pelagos watches. Look at mine, gaps are not small:

However on the wrist it is barely noticeable because the SELs are centered and recessed.

The SELs of this watch were protruding at almost every area of the lugs. Heavy overworking and grinding down made them visually acceptable in my eyes. Overall you can make a really good rep out of this. Bracelet and SELs are really weaker compared to the watch head.
