This is AWESOME. Can really see insert width and crown AND pearl (pearl is the biggest bummer imho). Also the lack of “swiss time” is a bummer. You could make a living doing this. Thanks for taking the time.

What you mean “swiss time” mate?

Just got mine, pretty nice little watch
definitely needs a v2, with some sort of AR treatment and crispier all throughout
fun watch to wear though, perfect size

will post pictures comparing with my smiley 41mm blue

Got mine yesterday. The lume difference annoys me but thats the only thing tbh. I'm not sure which are correct. The hands are a beige while the dots are pretty much white.

Alright, so have some thoughts now to share after wearing it throughout the day.

Very nice watch at a decent price point.

I’m happy to have bought it. I have been crazy about the bb58 for months now, but couldn’t find any gen to try and help me decide if I truly wanted it. This is a great test drive.
For that reason, I’m definitely glad to have bough the v1 now despite it flaws than the alternative of buying a better v2 in 3+ months.

The size is great, and makes a lot more sense. However, I still think the lack of the bottom chamfer introduced on the gmt makes it wear thick. My gen 2531.80 wears way thinner despite comparable measures. I think my 41mm below will see considerably less wrist time now.

The long crown is a non-issue for me. Overall, I wish the crystal was less reflective and the dial more crisp. The insert still has room to improve, especially compared to the blue helenarou insert I put on the 41mm

One more thing to consider... i think the gold sorroundong on the hands creates some optical illusion on both the rep and the gen. Saw several gen pics where the hand lume appears different from the dial lume, even though we know that that is most likely not the case. As such, the different lume cor is not really bothering me

that lume difference really is bad.... I hope v2 will fix it.

after the issues they had with the BB Red and lume, im suprised this has not been seen by the factory, then again they know people will buy every version like people did with BB red.

How long does it take for a V2?

Tough to say
If I remember correctly, quite a few years ago, versions 1 through 4 of the original eta red black bay were released over a span of more than a year—folks correct me if Im wrong
I would be really surprised if a v2 hit the TDs within the next 3 months though... makes sense for the factory to maximize sales of this version before coming up with the next one

Any after-market hands we could replace the standard ones with and which would match the dial lume?
