I think all depends on the demand. They will sell this batch and if demand is good they will consider to make another batch hopefully taking into account some improvement such as

The hour hand is too long
Swiss made is to big
Bezel insert is too thin
Bezel numbers too small
Dial and hand lume does not match
Bezel teeth too small
Crown tube too long
..

Of course not being anal is a very nice Rep as it is now!

Just recieved qc pics. I know it’s not a perfect rep. But im happy with what zf achieved with this first release of this model.
Same experience i had with the pepsi gmt from them, and ive been wearing it almost daily since i got it.
I bet this one will be great in person too. Ill post pictures as soon as i get it.

When do you think ZF would release the v2 for this model? I'm considering to wait for it or buy a super rep Black bay 58 red

What Black bay 58 red?

This version has been released a couple of days ago, so I wouldn't be holding my breath for a V2 any time soon.

Short story long.
I’ve been collecting reps for 11 years.
10 years ago there were some nice reps but the quality overall has gone up.
I took about a five year break from the forums.
I had a certain taste in watches previously and coming back my taste has expanded.
I was not a Rolex guy. Since I’ve returned I’ve picked up a number of them.

Now I’ve gotten into some Tudors and I find that I like them over the Rolex’s
My Pelagos is a favorite and a great rep in my opinion.
I picked up a Blue Bronze Bucherer and love that one as well.
Recently I picked up a “Pepsi” GMT from ZF. Not perfect but a nice piece.

With that experience I pulled the trigger quickly on the 58.
Still gathering an opinion but first impressions are:

This is the smallest Tudor I have. The size and look feels retro to me.
I like the simplicity of this one as well as many of the other Tudors I have.
The bracelet is smaller than the GMT’s. Not as wide.
Yes the hands have a different shade of lume then the markers but it doesn’t bother me at all.
The crystal has a different shape to it giving different looks depending on the angle that I’m looking at it.
The crown sticks out more than the GMT but that may be the same on the gens.
I personally prefer no date watches as that was one of the more visible tells on my older reps.
The sunken date.
Will they fix any of these issues? Probably but when?
Prices seem to be higher for reps than they used to be.
Compared to some reps I believe this one is a good value.
I’m not a modder
I believe that watches are a personal taste.
There are some reps that even though they may be an accurate replica, I wouldn’t get it.
This one is somewhat smaller than my tastes but it will get wrist time.

Real life pictures sadly seem to exacerbate the “flaws” we saw in the sale ads from TD

Well I've accepted the first watch that Ryan offered me. Crown looks OK like everyone else's QC pics. Dial was aligned perfectly.

Fingers crossed that I'll be pleased with it. I'm not that anal about reps anymore. No one else cares.

actually i think it looks really good!

if you are anal about hands lume -> try to find aftermarket ones, or maybe even gen?
shouldnt be too expensive
bezel difference to gen is not noticeable

only the crown seems to be a more serious matter
but maybe someone figures out how to fix the crown?

Thanks for the pictures.
How does the Zf 58 compares in finish and quality to the Zf GMT?
Are the bracelets about the same quality?
Thanks

The bracelets are a similar quality and construction, a little different size.
both look good.
I like the no date aspect of the 58 and I feel the GMT is a better size for me.

one critique I have for both is the bezel movement. The GMT is tight and doesn’t click cleanly. The 58 is just plain tight. It doesn’t spin well.
i would ask your TD’s to check on that as it can’t be detected in a picture.
at least the GMT’s bezel is bi-directional so you can move it back easily if it were to move off zero position.
The 58 has a tough 360 to make it back home.
Personaly I don’t play with bezels so it’s not a big deal to me

Having got mine in hand, the tube is MAHUSIVE. When you glance at the watch, I personally don't notice it because my attention is drawn to the dial and the tube is just in my peripheral vision, but if you purposely look at the tube, it looks a bit silly imo. The mismatched lume doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would which is a plus. Overall I like it and it's a keeper for me, but if you're OCD, deffo wait for the v2 (or v3/4/5/6.......)
