Photobucket is asking for money, alternative?

Hi guys,

Just got an email from photobucket stating that I HAVE to update to their most expensive plan, 40 bucks a month for photo hosting... Whaaaaat?
If they would have warned or sent a nice email I would have considered, MAYBE.
But they blocked all my embedded pics so my threads are useless... Tossers!

Anyone with a good alternative please?

It really sucks what they did...I would maybe understand that for new uploads but even for the old pics makes lots of threads in a lot of forums useless...

Yep same with me and snap I started a thread asking the same advise for the next best image hosting site. Photobucket was so dam easy with the iOS RWI app.

Straight forward, simple interface and website. Lots of people use it in the content and software development world.

Imgur is great and all, but it's a bit 'cluttered' compared to its beginnings. Its gone from a simple upload, categorization, link listed image option to trying to be a full functioning and community image rating and comment site due to the popularity (and usage by) a larger contingent of Reddit.

If they are in an album you can search on the right side of the page for "Download Album".
Else there are only some scripts on the internet to do that!

I just switched from photobucket to imgur - I indeed like it better - download is faster, one can upload multiple pictures at once and there is an automatic resizing option.

I used this tutorial:

make sure to copy the direct link (not the image link)

I actually like Flickr a lot as well. Has an app that's super easy to use as well. Snap pics on your phone, upload away, and then you can use them perfectly on the computer.

I just signed up with Imgur, damm easy to do. Looks really promising.

The interesting thing about imgur is that you can 'submit' your pictures to the imgur community who then post comments and award points to your submission (if worthy). There is some real funny stuff on there.

Or not, keep everything private and just use it as an image hosting site.

On the Imgur website, the direct link can be accessed (with difficulty) and then pasted, but the image doesn't show - see above.

When installing the Imgure app, no link can be found.
