I? used to buy Colibris but they always broke. Now it’s a cheap-ass JetLine that my cigar store replaces for free when it craps out.

For my tobacco pipes I use a Sillems Old Boy with green enamel, which is my all-time favourite lighter design

For cigars I mostly use matches, but sometimes I use a fairly cheap jetflame lighter that has a very similar liftarm design as the lighter shown above.

When I smoke cigarettes (it is kind of an on-/off-relationship) I mostly use a S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 with vertical grained finish like this one:

When outdoors I mostly carry this brass Zippo lighter with an eagle Toledo design:

JetLine triple flame.

I’ve been curious about the rep DuPonts for a couple years, but never grabbed one. Usually sold as something like “Bright sound lighter” on DH or AliExpress. You guys like them, and do they work well?

I had the good fortune of finding a gen gold Dunhill closing the bar one night when I worked as a bartender at The Clubhouse in Oakbrook Mall outside of Chicago as a bartender in 2000....and I bs you not, a couple weeks later, I found a gen DuPont. As naive as I was, I looked to my manager and said “check this out, must’ve been some big-wig from the chemical company.” Lol when I saw his eyes light up, I turned down his offer to take it home with him.

Sadly, both were in my M5 when it was stolen few years later.

+1 on Colibris being junk. I’ve been very impressed with Xicar lighters. I’ve had my current one for 2 years and I haven’t lost it or broken it — a new personal record haha

I used to smoke cigars, but had to give them up 13 years ago due to health reasons. I still kept my Dunhill lighter that I had used. I still EDC it, even though I don't really use it anymore.

That dunhill is beautiful!

As for me, I smoke predominantly cigars, of which Padron and Davidoff are my 2 favourites. As for my lighters I just have a xikar exodus in silver for soft flame and an ST Dupont Extreme in bronze

I use aliexpress lighters with 3 x burners, torches, but I keep forgetting them, losing them or they are confiscated by airport security.

Hello cigar aficionados!

I use various lighters but to be honest most of them are rubbish. Only brand that can endure the test of time is ST Dupont.

I use mine as much as I can! I love the contrast mat black and brushed palladium (made for Davidoff)

I think the cheap stuff have the merit of being cheap and easily replaced, whilst some expensive one can fail as easy as the cheapo

You are in luck with your ST Dupont, take a google around, they are prone to failure and the after market service is quite the joke (this mostly concerns any of their jet lighters) !

I have three Dupont rep lighter, awesome quality and sturdier construction than the real ones

Interesting. I might indeed be lucky with mine. But mine was made in France... Having moved prod to China wasn’t the best move by the new owners... the Xtreme are the biggest joke ever, such a crap lighter but hey margin is king!

May I ask where did you get your DuPont rep? Might have a go at one
