post pics of the ones that you like and I will try and assist with referrals .... and just to be crystal clear - I don't SELL pens, I buy them

Narikaa is a trusted dealer here (I guess his name is Reg) and he sells some Montblanc pens. He's in Thailand for a couple more weeks buying stock, but once he gets back he will post some new items for sale including lots of pens.

Check his section out.

I'm waiting for him to get back to make my first purchase, but from what I hear the quality of his stuff is better than anyone else at the same price.

Yeah Reg is a good guy and has good basic MB reps. As far as I have ever heard, his quality is No.1 for the range he brings in.

For the record: My area of interest and specialisation is the Limited Edition pens of all brands/makes so I don't really have a clue about the more "traditional" MB range.

These pics illustrate the types of writing instruments I have, or am interested in ...

Those who know me, know that I like to buy genuine boxes when possible, so before anyone asks ... the boxes are not replicas - the cost of producing accurate replica boxes is prohibitive ... these boxes cost a LOT more than the pens in them

BTW I made that Ingrid Bergman box

.... and finally, an extremely poor picture of my 'pen drawer' in the cabinet I made over Christmas 2011

GentsDresser1.jpg

here is the link to the page showing the cabinet in more detail if anyone is interested....

I only made the top half

http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g364/Steve_Ansell/AA Kilmore Renovation/Gentlemans-Dresser/

This is a link to another box I made for a friend's 50th - the wood was milled on his family's farm when he was born. I made the box, wrote the poem and had the pen made by a silversmith and penmaker who knew his family. Applying my design skills, the box took 50 hours and the poem contains 50 words, continuing the 50th theme. Because the pen cost a considerable amount 14 of David's closest friends and family contributed to its cost - I made up a large card containing the poem and a panel where the contributors could express their love and best wishes .... I got them all to do so using the pen ... it worked out nicely - he is a good bloke and a steadfast friend ... his two boys are serving in harm's way as I write this .... spare a though if you can.

Anyway, it was a surprise party .... he was pretty surprised!

:)

For other members, Adhya's pens are:

1. Mark Twain
2. Jules Verne
3. George Bernard Shaw

BTW I have several Mark Twains which while excellent reps, have machining marks on the "waves" - if/when I get time I will be polishing those out a bit so they better match the genuines

@graman - thanks mate - Dave was blown away, by the gift and the story of how it all came together. The timber went from Dave's dad, to Dave's sister, to his best mate, to my best mate who sang at his party (prof performer) to me who did the work, then to each of the people who contributed, then to Dave - it worked out well.

For any other Aussies out there, the timber is Blackwood.

Some of the traders from my city regularly visits Shenzhen in China. I have given them prints of Seriph's reps. One of them brought several rep MB's from China -- including these. They charged Rs. 1600 - roughly $ 28.5. He also had GBS V2 FP and Jules Verne FP and RB. All Jules Verne had different shades of blue -- the Ballpoint was closest to Gen.

Yes, the Mark Twain have machining marks.

Love Blackwood mate....it's got a sensational grain.
Lovely bit of skill from the maker too.

Quite blonde for Blackwood, but the fiddleback and the sheen in the grain is lovely.

Thanks "G" - happy how it turned out ... I think the lightness is due to the age of the tree and that it was air dried in a shed for 49+ years etc. Also, I Victorian Blackwood may not have the same look as Tassie stuff ... I do recall the 80's craze for Blackwood kitchen doors and they definitely looked darker than this ... and a lot of it had a green tinge to it.

BTW this is unstained - just spray can lacquer (a dozen coats) hand rubbed to 1200... had to make up the 50 hours somehow!

:D
