At what age should you teach your child about gun safety ?

Interesting subject. I have to say, whilst in U.K. it's nothing like over your side, I still think teaching responsibly and safely is key.

Once you get your child to respect guns and being safe around them, then it is time to go outdoors with him. Time to hunt !! ...........

Put Some Respect On My Name
My children get guns when they are 6, my 5 year old knows what a firearm is and that they are dangerous if handled incorrectly. Past that we will learn to shoot next year!
My 5 1/2 year old has been attending my pistol club for just over a year and had his first training wit suppressed M&P22 a couple of weeks ago. There were people lining up to help out and provide encouragement for the little monster. we practice plinking coke cans at home with airsoft guns which I think is perfect for teaching the basics. He also loves patching targets at the club too, never have enough people patching.
