As a veteran I am excited to see this but part of me thinks it's change for the sake of change. The M9 serves its purpose well and never failed me in my time. Is it the best weapon available? No. Does it have the ability to put metal into meat effectively? Yep.
I'm excited about cheap surplus M9s though! I only have 4 different holsters in storage for that weapon and a light! Woohoo!
As much as I love Sig. I think the government should be buying America made. I didn't check but is this American made. I know I have a p226 that is marked Exeter something so is it made in America?
Yes folks, it will be made in the USA. Sig-Sauer, the German-Swiss company has had a manufacturing facility in place in NH for a quite a long time. Like Beretta and Glock. They have already planted roots in the USA for a while now. Let's all hope it serves us all well. http://kitup.military.com/2017/01/new-army-handgun.html?comp=7000029711048&rank=5 ........... http://kitup.military.com/2017/01/modular-handgun-system.html .................... This is also good news for us, as the market will soon be flooded with nice Beretta M9 pistols at surplus prices ! Time to save up for some nice selected 'never issued' examples about to hit our FFL dealers shelves !!
Haha, I want the rusted our pieces of crap that still have dirt from Afghanistan in all of the cracks. That's a more familiar feeling for me. Now to just get my old M4....
p320 looks great, I hope someone brings them in to NZ. How many M9's would be out there? what will they be sold for? we get so ripped for anything firearm related down here.

I just shot a 320 this past weekend. I was thoroughly unimpressed. While I'm sure it has the same high quality we've come to expect from Sig, there are half a dozen other striker fired pistols out there I'd have over the 320 without hesitation.
