Blue Screws....again

I found this old thread that has a quote from a thread I can't find.

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/...1?t=72921&highlight=blue+screws+movement+7750

It states that they will give us the part numbers for replacement silver screws to replace the blue screws.

I want to do this in my tag carrera, but the pictures are missing.

Has anybody got a tutorial on this and part numbers from cousins to show how to do this as I am guessing the screw sizes vary throughout the movement?

If the pictures can be found to match up with the description it would be really handy.

This is what I ordered from cousins after studying some diagrams of 7750. I'm waiting for the package now so soon I will know for sure if it was a right choice.

Screw For Barrel & Train Bridge + Others ( 5106 ), Valjoux 7750 (VAL77505106) x 6 @ £2.15
Screw For Operating Lever + Other ( 58139 ), Valjoux 7750 (VAL775058139) x 2 @ £3.85
Screw For Balance Bridge ( 5121 ), Valjoux 7750 (VAL77505121) x 2 @ £2.93
Screw For Oscillating Weight ( 51143 ), Valjoux 7750 (VAL775051143) x 1 @ £2.93

I ordered the amount for two watches and probably will mod only one, so it looks like I will have some spare screws.

Cool - let me know how you get on so I know if I need to order all of them and maybe more?

I'm half tempted to send mine to a modder as I want the datewheel changed too.

Thanks for sharing those part numbers. I will await the arrival of them, and see if they are indeed the right ones when you come to swap out the blue ones. :)

Look at this thread: http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=137303

In blue you have the amounts of the screws you will need.

So if you order for 1 watch, you need:
3x 5106 (1 spare)
1x 58139 (1 spare)
1x 5121 (2 spare)
1x 51143 (2 spare)

Unfortunately the diagram is missing.

Mine are still waiting for some free time to be installed.

Awesome - I think that was the post that was quoted originally that I couldn't find the source of.

If only we could get our hands on the diagram...

You won't.
I contacted the author of this post, and he doesn't have a diagram any more.

I have read somewhere that an owner sanded his blue screw heads lightly to remove the blue, resulting in silver. Anyone confirm this is possible?

Yes, it is possible. But not the good idea IMO.
The screws are very delicate do the risk of damage is high. Moreover - gen screws shine. Sanded rep screws don't.

Mikey2008 just PM'd me to say he fixed the image on RG. I went to post it here and SSTEEL beat me to it :)

And here it is - the work is done!

I skipped only the screw #12. I would have to disassemble the whole movement to swap it.

I did this yesterday but couldn't get to 12, 14 and 7.

The rest aren't too bad.
