SH3135 and Manual Date Change

Hi guys,

I’ve read the SH3135 requires that the date not be changed during certain times to prevent damage.

Is this true? If so what are the times I should avoid manually changing the date?

My SH3135 has a gen date wheel in it if that makes any difference.

Thank you kindly for the help!

on mine, if I change the date between 11h30pm and 7:30am, I feel a little friction (very light) and the hands move a little at each change of date so I do not change the date during those hours.
I changed the 623 and 625 parts for gen that are supposed to correct that.
I checked without the dial and the date finger touches the DW until 7:30 am.
to be careful I advise you to not change the date between 10pm and 8am but the experts of the sh3135 can advise you better than me

General rule for any mechanical watch with a date is to not change the date via crown between 10 pm and 2 am as the date change mechanism is engaged and can potentially be damaged. This is true for genuine movements also.

Especially true for many older Seiko movements. I forgot this last week and messed up my 1967 8346C. Kicking myself.
