Help with bezel Paint Mods in the UK? Anyone do it?

Hi all,

Bought a new GMF V3 Batman a couple months ago, and had it modded straight away with new crystal and gasket, bracelet, movement strip and rebuild, and a few other bits.

But the bezel is spoiling it for me. The GMF has one of the better bezel inserts, but it isn’t good enough.

It doesn’t look too bad in my poor quality photos, but the numbers in the colour transition areas look wrong. The numbers look like they change to darker on the blue section, plus they have the lumpy speed bumps.

I can’t wear the watch like it is... so I need the bezel modded.

Does anyone in the UK do paint mods? Does anyone want to sell me a better bezel?

Any suggestions welcome!

I actually just did a paint mod on a Batman bezel.

Unfortunately I’m US based. It didn’t fully eliminate the speed bump, but did improve it. I think your best option might be either a spongebob or Usane (spelling) splatter mod.

Here are some pics of the GMT:

Why change crystal? Did you put a genuine bracelet? And what do you mean by "strip" the movement?

Hi,

On the GMF V3, one of the only obvious parts that isn’t correct is the crystal height.

The GMF V3 crystal sticks way high above the bezel, and looks obviously wrong.

I changed it to a Clark AR sapphire crystal and Clark gasket which fixes the problem and means the crystal sits at the same height as Genuine. This process also requires the hands to be lowered slightly to clear the new lower crystal.

The movement was stripped and cleaned because any watch fresh from the factory usually needs attention, even if it isn’t obvious. This GMF was running fine, but on inspection had cracked jewels, was dirty, and was flooded with oil.

So it was stripped to clean and replace the jewels.

While the watch was disassembled, it was fitted with better o rings and silicone grease to enhance the waterproofing.

The bracelet was changed for a Noob V10 bracelet because these are a lot more Gen looking and feeing than the GMF bracelets.

Hope this helps.

Noleex sent me a GMT which had a modification to the bezel insert to remove the speed bump and he also switched an Ichs movement for a replica chs.

From uk to him and back very quick (he’s in Austria) and he did it instantly. I think he may do the speed bump for you.
