Ive run into an issue replacing a broken movement. All of them I source seem not have the extended shaft for the seconds hand as show. By the red arrow.

Can someone more familiar tell me what version this is? What the proper terminology is for this or even better still sell me what I need or point me in a better direction than ebay. I’m on my 3rd return by now...
Cheers!

The very first time I worked on dg2813, I made the error of using a "movement pillow".
After Two movements I learned the hard way that placing any movement, esp the dg2813 face down is a big no-no. They snap off quicker then frozen chickens feet in February... Resulting in very flush looking pinion works...

That is the height of the canon pinion I believe, they come in different heights, for example on ETA 2824 you need to use h4 for most Rolex models.

You need to measure the seconds wheel, hour wheel etc to make sure they are the correct height for your application.

The seconds hand should still be fine to fit providing the seconds pinion is in the centre of it. Providing it doesn't foul the minute hand

You have 2 different movements there - look at the difference in height between the main body of the movements.

The DG2813 made by the Dixmont Guangzhou company is a clone of the Miyota 8215 with a hacking feature. There are several other companies that make lower uality versions of the 8215 with different dimensions, hand sizes etc, yet they are all called DG8213 - which is impossible as they weren't made by the Dixmont Guangzhou company.

You'll also find people selling Miyota 8215's as DG2813's and DG3804Bs (which is the GMT version of the movement).

A true DG2813 should have a pink wheel visible on the rear of the movement and a blue screw in the centre of the rotor - like this one:

So, would it then be possible to replace a DG2813 movement with a genuine Miyota 8215?

Yes, but IIRC the DG second hand will need to be broached slightly to get it to fit the Miyota pinion. Other than that it's a straight swap. FI the DG is a clone of the 8215, but with hacking added.
