Asian 21j, AKA DG2813, made by Nanning by the look of it.

Next question for bonus points, what decent movements if any are compatible with this watch case, do any ETA or sellitta fit? Don't wanna use a dog if I can help it

The 2824 clones could work regarding the stem height but the case doesn't have the Grove for screw tabs to fit... Therefore you can only use plastic movement holder as already used...

Ah one thing... The dial feet won't match with a 2824...so you have to cut them off and glue it... It's a bit of work but not impossible

A DG2813 has a stem height of 2.5 mm, and ETA/clone 2836 will fit, not an ETA 2824. You will need new hands - standard ETA sizes.

Ah yeah, the 2836 not the 2824...correct!

Not sure about that but you can let a watchmaker remove the date mechanism... Not sure if the 3 positions (when pulling crown) will remain... May I ask how the original dial is looking? I'm always looking for some indexes to remove...

Cheers!

Don't have the watch in hand yet but here a pic, just not my style at all.

I bought the watch just to mess around with and learn really.

Basically want to remove movement and replace with Swiss, amount other little changes, just a little cheap project for fun and leaning on

How would I lose the date functions and crown position though?

Just remove the date wheel - or leave it in place, you're not going to see it if there's a no date dial in place. Modifying the keyless works to remove the date set position is not something you're going to be able to do.

I would be happy to pay to have that done or is not possible?

You'll have to pay a watchmaker to do it.
Spoken to a guy and ordered a top grade sellitta sw220-2 and he is going to remove date parts and fit a different setting lever to remove date. So all good by the sound of it

So, apparently I can remove date parts from a sellitta sw200. I use the setting lever jumper from a 2801 and this will remove date setting position.

The sw200 is the same hand height as the 2836 and once date is removed will work perfectly, I may add a Rolex decorated rotor just to add some shiney.

Movement looks good with all blued screws etc.

One last question mate if you don't mind.

If I buy a 2824, change to h4 height and use this this 2801 jumper. Would that be compatible with said Asian 21j movement?

Would rather do that as I prefer to have the 2824. Would also teach myself how to swap over the parts, I believe both jobs are not too difficult and seems to be some writeups on how to do it. I have the tools here at home after all.

What are your thoughts?

Pics of the movement and hand height parts
