Finding Red Date disc for ETA 2836-2 movement

Hello, I’ve been searching for a red date disc to have installed in my vintage Tudor snowflake Rep. I’m not finding any that work specifically with this movement. I can only find “Overlays” but I’m trying to stay away from that option currently.

I researched compatibility with other ETA movements but so far have found that the date disc for the 2836-2 isn’t interchangeable with other movements (please correct me if I’m wrong).

Any help with sourcing a red date disc (white background) or info on other compatible movements would be greatly appreciated.

Tudors didn't use 2836 movements, personally I've never seen a 2836 with red printed DW.

Hmm. I’m assuming this movement is a 2836-2 because it’s signed as such on the movement when I opened it up. Should I add a photo to make sure this is the right movement or is the signature a pretty good indicator of the movement?

So my best choice would be an overlay?

If it's stamped 2836-2 then it's most likely a 2836-2. An overlay is probably your only choice.

Why not just swap out the 2836 for an earlier movement that has the red date wheel with the proper font? 2789 maybe

Actually, now that I think about it, the dial would need to be refooted, it would be a whole production- never mind.

Well this movement needs to be repaired so I wouldn’t mind swapping it out. What about using a 2824-2 with red date wheel?

No, the dial will fit... but the movement won’t- different stem heights.
