2824-2 date wheel issues

Hi there guys

Recently recieved a Noob Ingenieur and have noticed the date wheel sits quite low in the cut out between numbers 1 - 12 before sitting central 13 onwards. Is this a dodgy date wheel or could there be a mechanical issue that can be repaired?

Yep.
Looks like it could be a easy fix if you know how to remove the movement, hands and dial of the watch. The DWO just seems to be a little higher than it should be. You should be able to just move the DWO counter clockwise slightly. You just have to make sure it’s on there good. Would recommend some slow setting adhesive that does not expand.
