is the global search function the only way to search on this forum? I’m using Safari on an IPhone X and there’s no search function I can find besides global search. Impossible to search within sub forums. Any advice?

You can use the advanced search function, you can access it by clicking the little arrow next to the search box or directly here :
https://forum.replica-watch.info/search?q=&searchJSON={}&AdvSearch=1
Here you'll be able to select a source for your search and you can select multiple or only one subforum to search in
