Hi all

Bought a GMT Master II 126710 BLRO Real Ceramic 904L SS GMF 1:1 Best Edition Black Dial on Jubilee Bracelet A2836 last year. The insert is good but I assume progress has been made and there are now better ones available ? Any views and if so could you point me in right direction?

Also wondered if worth getting sent to get the the insert replated / filled by one of the modders here

There’s a noob Pepsi and vrf Pepsi thread discussing this and showing the differences. You could get a platinum mod to the engravings by sponge Bob (currently have my blusey insert with him getting done) but tbh there’s much more wrong with the gmf insert than that.

I have a vrf Pepsi, although it’s better than gmf and I like it they have transition lines visible and the engravings aren’t gen like or as good as noobs so I’ve ordered a noob insert to replace it.

Li at Jtime sourced one for me. Engravings and red colour are better but vrf captures the blue better. Although the colours all are still off from gen I like the noob.

Noob is still King of the BLRO inserts but the 18 transition is not consistent. It should occur about 15% into the 8, right at but not into the 8 holes.

Very very few Noob inserts are correct, I've seen maybe 2 or 3. They are usually way too high - I've seen some 2/3 of the way into the 8.

As KJ mentioned, you have to decide what is important. Noob has better colors but incorrect 18 transitions while ROF/VRF has better 18 transitions but color is questionable. I would stick with Noob since 18 transition is noticeable on wrist.

This is a bad photo of mine... My 18 is the bit that annoys me the white line syndrome isn't too bad to be fair but 8 is nearly entirely in the blue

I find the red color on the GMF and the VRF to be less appealing than the Noob. The red is too bright - Ferrari red, with no cranberry tones at all like the gen has.

That noob insert looks nice but now you say it all I can see how much excess red there is in the circles of the 8 at 18!!! doh

Yes, with reps we often have to choose to live with one flaw over another.

Looks good ! I do like my insert it's just the 8 on the 18 bugging me a little...

Wonder why the batman insets on ARF seem to look so much better :-S
