Hi All,
In June I bought a ZZF v2 Submariner 116610LN and it has not been off my wrist.

I would like to find a non-Rolex replica to compete with the Submariner, any suggestions?

I have been surprised by how much I love the ZZF v2 Submariner 116610LN. Any suggestions for a replica on a bracelet to complete with the Submariner?

Thank you! Cheers

Own:
ARF Rolex 114300 Rodium (doesn't feel as substantial as the 116610LN)
ZF Blancpain Fifty Fathoms black (don't like the strap, tend not to wear)
ZZF v2 Submariner 116610LN
Noob IWC Laureus Sport Ingenieur 2824 (don't like the strap, tend not to wear)

Possible "Runner-Up" to 116610LN:
Audemars Piguet ROO Diver JF V9.5 (too blingy ?)
Audemars Piguet 15400 (too blingy ?)
Rolex 6263 ? (don't like the bracelet clasp)
Rolex Explorer (no date)
Datejust (too blingy)
Navitimer on bracelet (too blingy)
Tudor Pelagos 2824

I've recently been hot on the Seiko NH 35A and NH36A movements. First I took an old Seiko XKS031 100 m sub like watch- installed a new NH36A and a plain chapter ring with a set of Mercedes hands. Put a Seiko- like oyster bracelet on it

I apologize because I don't know why Image shack images aren't posting correctly.
Next I bought an inexpensive chinese rep with an HN35A movement in it for $80 dollars
Sterile NH35 Mechanical Men Watch Automatic Movement Mental Band Sapphire Glass | eBay
I picked up a Seiko dial with minute hash marks for $40 or so and installed it- a $120 Seiko YM with the black bezel insert.
You could do the same with a Rolex type insert and have a nice beater for less than $150.
These Seiko movements are pretty durable and economical.

When I’m not wearing a Sub my next in line choice is usually a Daytona or a GMT-Master.

I own plenty of non-Rolex reps/gens, but whenever I wear one I always find that I feel a very slight sense of disappointment as I glance at my wrist and don’t see a Rolex there..!

Hi 2001025

Thank you for the post !

Yes, the Audemars Piguet ROO Diver JF V9.5 on braclet is on my short list.

I am a little afraid of the "bling level" of the ROO. Do you wear it to work ? When traveling ?

Cheers

I love the face of the Tudor GMT, but the riveted bracelet brings out my OCD.

I need to try the Tudor Pelagos now that there is the 2824

The Blue Bathyscaphe on bracelet is a great suggestion:

The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m 42mm on bracelet is another great suggestion.

Hi p0pperini

That is what I am afraid of, I seem to be turning into a Rolex guy against my will.

So far nothing is measuring up to the ZZF 116610LN, maybe I need to give in and try out the Daytona or a GMT-Master.

Hi alligoat

Oh boy do I have Seikos, maybe forty projects. It was modifying Seikos that led to Replicas.

There seems to be a common progression:

1. WatchuSeek > 2. Modifying Seikos > 3. Vintage Watches > 4. Replicas > 5. Franken Replicas> 6. Vintage Replicas
1. Hey this is fun ! I had no idea there were so many different types of watches
2. I can't afford the real so I will modify a Seiko to look like the real
3. I can't find a Seiko to look like the real, will find a vintage of the model
4. Damn vintage watches are expensive, maybe I will try replicas
5. Damn I have purchased so many replicas this is getting expensive
6. I am running out of replicas that I have not tried I will start to Franken my watches
7. Damn genuine parts are expensive, maybe I can find a vintage replica
8. Sell it all and start over

So far I am on stage 4.

Try it on a rubber strap instead of a bracelet, I believe that the rubber strap gives it a better balance. Sporty but not too blingie.

I wore it mostly with my t shirt.
Trust me, people recognize Rolex a lot more than AP.

Have you heard the gospel of the PAM? If you like something substantial, this one definitely is.

I would recommend the Yacht master 40mm. It has similar dimensions as the sub but feels slimmer due to the curvature of the case and appears more dressy while having a sporty vibe too.

If you want a non rolex piece, I second what others have suggested above, the Omega Seamaster professional 300m. Lovely dial and cool bezel.
