ARF - VRF - Noob V11.. ??

For new buyers - my vote is ROF as the the base watch. You can then add whatever parts you like. Definitely needs a better crystal. Also recommend an ARF clasp (but you might get a great QC as well just like me)

The thing is, I Dont wanna collect parts and franken it.

Just wanna buy and use it as it is.

Understood.If you don't want to change anything and still expect longevity, you will need the VR3185 movement which the ROF has. Both ARF and ROF have flaws, you have to decide what you can live with.

Strange, mine has the same color as my GEN. I'm getting another insert tmrw and will take more pictures to share ;-)

I'm also looking for a base watch for a Noob pepsi insert. I like ARF's SEL recess. But that movement is making me a little hesistant. The Flush SEL on the Noob is annoying. I think ROF has a decent compromise between the two, it just needs a crystal replacement. Waiting for in-hand reviews for it.

I'm so conflicted, I wish there was a definitive correct rep to get. But as far as reading between the 3 or so different threads with the 116710BLNR go I believe the following applies. Although I'm certain that I will be put right in due course.

Pros
Seems like a good choice for overall construction -
Good crystal and bezel/transition quality (and colour?)

Cons
The movement is sub-par compared to VR
Thin crownguards
Potentially poor quality bracelet.
incorrect serif per gen dial print - not a big issue.

VRF
Pros
Closest to gen dial accuracy
Reliable movement and good DW
"Correct2 crown guards - as far as they can be
Good color on the bezel
Good bracelet?

Cons
Incorrect 126710 case shape and marked as the same between the lugs?
Poor bezel transition in some units
Sub-par crystal - not something that I can see
Variation in hand lume width and border between batch 1 and 2 (believe KJ2020 knows more about this)

Pros
Unknown quantity as yet for the batman -
Has VR Movement
Cheapest of the 3.

Cons
Sub-par crystal - worse than VRF
Possibly same bezel construction as VRF
Asymetric CGs?

Feel free to put me right, as I want to pick up a batman but want to understand which the best compromise is first.

Read this thread back about 6-8 pages bro. Lots of good info about the pros and cons of each. Look at the pics of ARF CGs vs gen.

I was trying to see about the hand, I thought the ARF hand looks slightly lighter than gen and that has confirmed it. But you're right at least it matches the bezels slightly lighter shade of blue.

Mine arrived today

Left some of the protective stickers on as they look really "Gen like"

Watch feels really good, rotor is very quiet and the movement feels good to use so far, I know the ARF movement is said to be sub power but if it runs and keeps time well then ill be happy with it.

Bracelet is fantastic too, I had read a lot on the ARF bracelet and I have a Noob V3 Daytona, The bracelet on the Noob I have never had an issue with either.

ARF really did a great job with that insert. The black/blue junction is smooth and progressive, no sharp color transition anymore and no more speed bumps.

Well the movement in the ARF really is as bad as they say then as after only one day mine has stopped.

Any suggestions?? Anyone in the UK who can mod mine with a VR movment and maybe a few other gen goodies??

More pictures of the ARF insert next to the GEN one. Even though the blue colour might slightly be lighter, IMO it's the best non GEN alternative !
