Hi all,

Does anyone know about what year the last link-end on the 93150 bracelet changed from being round to hooked/beaked in shape? I know I saw this info before but can't seem to find it now!

Cheers!

Not sure what you mean but the 93150 has always had hollow end link (never had SEL). The 93250 got SEL around year 2000.

Sorry it's hard to describe...It's not the endlink itself, but rather the midportion of the last link that sticks out. If you look at that part that protrudes from a side view, it's either round or pointy-shaped...

Yes, I know the part you mean, the part of the end midlink the spring bar goes through. Not sure I can answer that.

I think we’re talking about the piece between the last full link and the endlink, which on my rep 93150 is custom made for better fit.

Cant say when they changed the round for the other one. Google should do the job if you’re searching for 93150 connecting link variants.
Nevertheless I’ll check VRF to see what I can find.

Aaaaah... I get it, at last! Thanks MrS. The earlier verbal description makes sense now too - sorry sfgerl for not getting your drift.

I can now happily return to being completely unable to help. :)

LOL! It's the thought that counts, right?

My apologies for doing such a poor job describing it. After more "googling" I see that it is called the "connecting link", which makes total sense, it connects the remainder of the bracelet to the endlink. And, the two ends are more commonly called either "round", or "wedge shaped". I did find some information that the wedge-shaped connecting link seemed to be used more with the 501B endlink for the GMTs, whereas the round connecting link was more for the 580 endlink and Subs.

I would love to know whether the ("later") wedge-shaped connecting links can be used with 580 endlinks to fit a Sub. Surely, somewhere - this has been tried.

And back to my original question - I am curious to know if there was also a time when the wedge shaped connecting link was "born" - either as a replacement to the round one, or as an alternative-type connecting link.

This is a photo of the link being talked about.
As for the date ..... I’d say .... around 2000. But that’s definitely a guess.

I am not sure on the exact year, but I had a 1996 93150 with the wedge connector links. I believe it is between 1993 and 1995 that they switched to the wedges if my memory serves me correctly.

The wedges would not fail to fit 580 end links or the likes, they just have less of a flush articulation, regardless of end links. I have small wrists and with the wedge end links, the first link sticks out a little bit in the manner that a SEL bracelet does.

I've read the answer to this somewhere but have forgotten where - it was probably the transition from the 580 end link to the 501b end link, so that would date it around '79 - '80, maybe a little later - mid 80's.

As to whether a 580 end link will fit on a wedge connector, I've never tried but I don't see why not.

That bracelet is a nice piece of junk! The Rolex emblem on the clasp is the first tell. I don't think the 78350 clasps ever had a flip-lock and whoever put the SELs on the fake 93150 was quite the inventor! So it's 100% fake!

LOL, it SOLD! I am feeling bad for the buyer. Anyway, I hope eBay has some protection for the buyer. Does anyone know where to find those 93150 rep bracelets? I emailed the Tds but they said it's no longer available to order. I found some on eBay but LOL! overpriced! (Big scam!)

The 93150 rep bracelet is harder to find than hen's teeth! A Paul's DRSD from 2006 had a nice 93150 bracelet with the prototype clasp- think I spent $139 on that watch and it had a Swiss eta! The DRSD also had a nice working He valve! 10 years ago Eurotimez - Chris- had a nice MBK 93150- had nice 580 end links as I recall. Raffles dials has a decent oyster bracelet- maybe marked 70216 or something, but at least it has detachable end links. There's just not much you can do these days.
