New Release GMF Daydate 40mm models. What you think?

Hey Guys

Just noticed that Gmf released some new Daydate 40mm models ..... any thought ? Anybody ordered the watch ?

What you guys think especially of the Rg / olive dial version ? It's my gen grail watch but i think never affordable :/

I think the gold waffle dial is amazing — I’m seriously considering the gen, though this rep gold waffle dial looks pretty good to my eye too. I assume the cyclops and crystal are as questionable as most though? Anybody with wrist shots?

Brief talk about these on the DD40 thread. I’m definitely interested in them - specifically the olive dial/RG version as well. Not much info on them yet, but here’s a few more pics/videos of other GMF DD40 models.

Won’t be much hype behind these as they’re not popular amongst forum members, so we’ll just have to try them out ourselves.

Odd they all share the same clasp code as the BPF DayDates (7GT) Here's my BP as an example;

BP and GMF are partner factories, like JF and ARF. BP does 316L GMF does 904L (or so they say, lol).

These look to be very similar to the BP line. The daywheel fonts look slightly different, individual letters are not so wide and the serifs are not as pronounced. I have long preferred the BP day fonts over Noob, though they are not exactly like gen. These new GMF day fonts look closer to gen to me. Although they look more plain than the BP fonts.

I could be wrong here but I believe BP day wheels are improved too, unless it's specific to which movement you choose, in which case I chose the A2836.

Same here mate. YG with silver dial is my grail watch. Been on the fence so long with these and never pulled the trigger.

To me; the only advantage I see is the 'White Gold" version now in 904 SS. I suspect looks a bit closer to gen.
I have an older BP RG version with "Swiss" movement. Looks quite good but I've had A LOT of problems with the damn movement.

It does look like BP has updated their day fonts, and they look more gen-like and also identical to GMF except stated 904L. They would not be movement specific, except that perhaps the 2813 versions haven't been updated yet. I have 3 BP Day-dates, all with 2836, all with the fancier day fonts. Two are 36mm.

So save your money and buy the BP version, lol.

Just saw that more GMFs showed up on Trusty's site. Some fantasy models though, e.g. light blue and blue structured dial w/ fluted bezel. The structured white dial should be more champagne coloured also.

I don't know which one are fantasy models (cause I've never been into the day date), but damn they are beautiful!

Hahahah , seems stuck .... the day changed at midnight, but the date was still on the 19th....

Isn't that just the copied text from BPF's DD40 back in 2017? "Ultimate Supreme Edition" - if "1:1 Best Edition" isn't good enough... :lol3:
